DRUG TRAFFICKER ARRESTEDAs a result of a year long investigation conducted by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force in Pascagoula, Mississippi, EDMOND C. BROWN, aka "Nicki", age 36, of Moss Point, Mississippi, was arrested on June 13, 2007 in Theodore, Alabama. BROWN
is charged with PossessionWith Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine. If
convicted, he faces penalties of up to life in a federal prison and $4,000,000
in fines. At the time of BROWN's arrest, Agents with the Safe Streets
Task Force, assisted by officers with the Mobile Police Department, seized
a .30 caliber carbine rifle and a .38 caliber derringer pistol, both of
which had been reported stolen in Mobile, Alabama. Agents also seized
a Chevrolet Impala SS and a Ford Expedition. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is a Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative and receives funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in Washington, D.C. It is made up of Special Agents from the FBI and law enforcement officers from the Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier, and Ocean Springs Police Departments, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
