John G. Raucci, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Mississippi, and Weysan Dun, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Springfield, Illinois announced the arrest of Todd Kent Black, age 38, at his residence in Brandon, Mississippi (Reservoir area). Black was arrested at approximately 11:15 p.m. by FBI Agents, Rankin County Sheriff's Deputies and Reservoir Patrol Officers.

On June 09, 2006, a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Central District of Illinois authorized a warrant for Black's arrest based on a complaint charging Black for committing Fraud by Wire in violation of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 1343. FBI Agents assigned to Peoria, Illinois initiated an investigation in October 2004 upon receipt of allegations that Black had perpetrated a fraud against a car dealership he owned in Galesburg, Illinois.

Black was transported to the Madison County jail on Saturday evening. Black will be held in the Madison County Detention Center pending his initial appearance before a United States Magistrate Judge on Monday, June 12th.

Mr. Raucci and Mr. Dun stressed that the charges upon which the arrest of TODD KENT BLACK are premised are accusations only and there is a presumption of innocence prior to any judicial proceeding.
