John G. Raucci, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Mississippi, announced as follows: The Jackson Division of the FBI is asking for the public's assistance in locating a fugitive who is believed to be living in the Jackson, Mississippi area. TONY MARTIN CAINE, JR., age 22, was charged with murder and aggravated robbery in a shooting that occurred in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on December 19, 2004, over an alleged drug deal. On January 6, 2005,
a federal complaint was filed in the United States District Court for
the District of Minnesota, charging CAINE with leaving the state of Minnesota
with the intent to avoid prosecution for the crime of Murder in the Second
Degree. A federal warrant for his arrest was issued that same day. This matter is being investigated by FBI Agents and the Jackson Violent Crimes Task Force, which consists of officers and agents from the FBI, the Jackson Police Department, the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the Hinds County Sheriff's Department, the Rankin County Sheriff's Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. The Minneapolis Division
of the FBI is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest
of TONY MARTIN CAINE, JR. Anyone with any information concerning
TONY MARTIN CAINE, JR. is asked to call the Jackson Division FBI
office at 601-948-5000.
